Hertfordshire Ramble (This trip is now full)
Hertfordshire was the home of the firm of James Pulham, 19th century manufacturers of artificial stone, and builders of grottos, rockeries, and follies. We will visit two examples of their work, firstly at the recently rediscovered Danesbury fernery and grotto, and then at Bennington Lordship. The day will start at Brookman’s Folly arch, and will include a visit to Scott’s Grotto, and an afternoon tea. Please note there is a walk of about 500 yards from car parking to the Danesbury fernery and grotto.
The cost for the day, not including tea is members £13, guests £15
